Laughing gulls

2 Comments

The gulls are having a wonderful time today. Sailing high above the waves, racing them into shore. Wings outstretched, supported by the thermals. Rising and diving. Hanging suspended on the wind, poised in the air, ready to plunge into the ocean. They seem to laugh at me as I pass, two legs hard at work. Fighting against the current. Why don’t you spread your wings, they say, and join us on our journey?

Taking time out to ponder life and everything else. This is the space where I press the pause button on my busy life to reconnect with God, to re-energize, and focus on my creativity. Time out to blow bubbles, walk on the beach, write some stuff, do some needlework, and generally enjoy life once again. You can view my main blog at www.iggandfriends.wordpress.com. 1. I just love sea gulls….
    I wrote this piece years back, just after I saw a documentary on sea gulls.
    It inspired me into other stuffs. I thought you might like it.

    LOST SEA GULL

    Sometimes by itself glides a Gull,
    Alone in the world’s sea of beauty so full.
    It looks sideways but crosses no road,
    Its head dipped by no visible load.

    The sky embraces its loneliness
    As sadness shrouds free happiness.
    This plentiful ocean guards existence,
    Though it exists without such a chance.

    When peace roams on its very own,
    Hope can not be ahead like the sun;
    For it is passed by again and again.
    One isn’t lost for truly one is sane.
