Life, crafty stuff, long walks, thoughts, and little oddities.

Ink sea

Looming sky overhead, full of rain. Ink blue sea, stirred up by the wind. Foam tops from the churning of the ocean. A fishing boat bobs up and down, bouncing from wave to wave. Struggling to make headway against the incoming tide.  Today is not a good day to be a fisherman.

  1. There are many such days in the Alenuihaha channel between Big Island and Maui. Your description fits for the best of days here!

  2. The fishing boat reminds me of home and of days spend butting against the wind and the swell. A gentle but steady hand is needed and you have to trust that the engine will get you through.
